My monday philosophy is to bring the best from the past with you and most of all take the best from your wardrobe and turn it into something really great, cause its a new week with new experience and new opportunities. There is no time for regrets or negative thoughts only positive energy and positive memories. I think its important to be prepared for a good week and always be dressed for success. This week is inspired by 1950`s and I really love that decade cause its really feminim with icons like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.

1950`s was a time when the world wars were over and things started go back to normal and when the industry started to grow fast and big. This was the time when the mass produced clothes took place on the market but at the same time when the couture started to tailored to fit perfectly. 1954 was the year Coco Chanel introduced the Chanel suit which is an important happening in the fashion history and its a contrast to the Christian Dior “New look” which I wrote about in the 1940`s post. If you want to know some more about what I think about the fashion the earlier years check out the 1930`s post as well.

This was a time when the halterneck and strapless dresses were a big trend and it was a strict dress code for the evenings during this time which I would loved to see more nowadays. 1950`s shoes were often very high with rounded or peep toes and low cut front upper. The hermes kelly bag was a popular one after been shown on Grace Kelly`s arm in 1956 and therefore the name.

Of course there was the opposite style like the Rockers or Beatniks which grew big during this time as well but I like to be inspired by the feminim look and as I wrote before always take what you think is the best from the past with you.
